Chaperones

Requesting a Chaperone

If you would like a chaperone to be present during your consultation please do not hesitate to ask at reception before you do in for your consultation or speak to the Doctor or Nurse at the start of your consultation.

Who can act as a chaperone

A number of people can act as a chaperone but where possible it is recommended that a chaperone should be a member of the practice team that are familiar with procedures and personal examinations. You do not have to accept the person offered as a chaperone so if you wish to re-arrange your appointment you can. You may prefer to have a family member or a friend.
