Freedom of Information Act 2014

The Freedom of Information Act 2014 is an act that gives individuals legal rights to access both personal and non-personal (corporate) records. It enables members of the public to obtain access to information in the possession of public bodies, other bodies in receipt of funding from the State and certain other bodies. The act also gives individuals the right to have personal information relating to them in the possession of such bodies corrected and the right to seek reasons for decisions that affect them. FOI bodies must give an explanation if you are not given what you asked for and the decision must normally be made within 4 weeks.
